Why do many suggest that just to live is emotional illness?

Living is emotional.  It can be anything you would like.
Unless you are without a soul and moving through time and space (which would be impossible) you would have to have emotions to live.
If they are ill because of their emotional status, they are living in emotional illness.
This would be very sad.  They have the power to change how they view their life and make changes for the better.
I would help anyone who was just living in emotional illness.

Look up Buddhism online and see what the Buddha had to say.

One could put it like this...
In order to live, all organisms must be capable of moving towards food and favourable conditions and moving away from toxins and dangers. Even single-celled organisms can do this.
As life becomes more complex it develops a nervous system and more complex modes of sensing, sentience, feelings and intelligence.
These more complex forms of life can experience pleasure and pain, either emotional or physical or both.

We feel pleasure when we get what we need in order to live, be comfortable, thrive and procreate, and also when pain ceases.
Humans have more complex needs, including love, social connection and sense of belonging and acceptance, and needs for creativity and personal growth.
We feel pain whenever the body is ill or injured, when we perceive a loss or threat, or when pleasure ceases.

Note that pain is visible at birth when a baby cries with the shock of taking its first breath - when it feels hungry, tired, cold, hot, has a sore bottom, colic or teeth pushing through, or needs rocking and closeness.
Similarly, every phase of life has its typical range of desires, satisfactions, stresses and pains. No phase of life is without these.

Part of the skill of life is learning to balance and navigate the needs, and how to adapt, learn wisdom, and learn how to love and nurture life.
When we fail to learn this way of balancing life's needs, we develop emotional illness - meaning we feel high levels of emotional distress and our responses to stressful situations tend (unconsciously and unintentionally) to increase the problems. This state of affairs is so common as to be almost "normal" - although the degree of intensity varies greatly.
It is possible to heal from this situation - fully - with the right kind of guidance and sufficient personal effort.

Pain can never be totally eliminated, but our attitude to how we deal with it can cut the level of pain by at least half - enough to make life and relationships enjoyable and worthwhile - enough to be able to say, "most of the time I feel happy, even when things are not perfect."

Good Morning and may all the pleasures of the world today bring you adventure and happiness.
You can and will find them and they will find you.
You are the best! :) :)

    Thank you!
It was a lovely day, fine and mild. Walked 2 k's down the road to the village - beautiful rural scenery all the way. Met friend Karen for a lunch-snack and coffee at the general store - long leisurely chat. Returned home with just enough time left for a little weeding in the veggie patch.
    I really like you too! :) :)

Probably because many are mentally ill and judge reality by their response to it.

Many implies a large but indefinite number.  Who are these people that you have heard suggesting that just to live is a mental illness?  This post was edited by tom jackson at June 18, 2019 10:02 PM MDT

I am not sure about that statement. What I am sure about is the FACT that people who KILL THEMSELVES because they just want to give up living are the ones who have the emotional anomaly.
