  • How about people stop getting on planes to fly around the globe for chits and giggles or business meetings?  Talk about unnecessary travel. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at July 12, 2019 7:58 PM MDT

Walking, cycling and public transport is a great start - easiest for people who live close to where they work. This would change the architecture of our cities - probably more high density with more green spaces.

Tesla and other electric vehicles will become common once renewable energy sources such as solar, solar thermal, wind, and hydro dominate. They will need to have bells or some kind of sound signal to prevent accidents

There are hundreds of ways we can change our lives now to reduce energy consumption and pollution. Lots of websites give advice.
The changes are not difficult.  As soon as one becomes used to the new ways, one at a time, they fit into one's life seamlessly.

Generating Electricty uses oil and wood pellets rather than coal....America is chopping down its forest to make wood pellets to fire England's power stations....one third of the trees chopped down gets burnt to dry the pellets...

All nuclear power station create radioactive waste that takes countless thousands of years to become harmles..

All electric cars are just another huge con and they to cause huge environmental problems ...
They are just replacing one problem with another....

The first step to a better planet is basic human decency towards one another.    Who gives a rat's anus what we drive when we cannot even get along with our neighbors?  Let's worry about not BOMBING the hell out of each other before we worry about driving things.

Let's try and feed one another.  Let's do that one.  Let's try and make sure people are physically healthy and have affordable health care.  Then they can drive somewhere and we can worry about the air.

Human kindness is in short supply in America and the White House.

That is where we start.  At the top. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at July 12, 2019 8:04 PM MDT

  • You know Young Turk? Walking by a community center house type dwelling down the street it has a Everybody Welcome sign with additional sayings and the one that stuck out to me is Kindness Is Everything. If only I could remember and incorporate that in my philosophy!

The first step is humanity coming to together in sufficient numbers to agree the problem is real, present and existential.
