Not to ever fool myself and think that is the answer for me.  It never was and I never married.

    Marry from the heart.
When this happens you don't need no stinking wedding ring or a religion.  You don't worry about adultery or money or your status in the world.  You are happy being together.  You have respect for eachother and yourselves.  You share what you learn everyday and listen when there is trouble .... or happiness.
You desire each other sensually and sexually and still have the urge to "look your best" when your chosen partner is in the room.  You giggle and yell and laugh and cry.
You share your crazy with their crazy and they define your craziness, together.
And the government or taxes Have Nothing to Do  with TRUE Marriage from the heart.

    Ahhem.  Ahhhem.  Far from stupid.

You were smart.  You didn't limit your options to your first choice and moved on.
It's always best to gather as much information as you can.
I'd like to think of it as you were comparison shopping.

It's a pointless thing to do and just a total waste of money... :(
