    JA has answered this several times, maybe there is merit in rephrasing it.

    I find it hard to imagine Trump figures he is serving people.  It is beneath that ponderous ego. (Maybe the inverse?) 

    The Oath of Office commits the Pres to  “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution...” It too, seems beneath that ego.
