Global legislation to mandate the abandonment of fossil fuels in favour of renewable energy sources, and funds to police it. Global free education and basic medicine - to immediately begin to bring down the rate of population growth.
America should pattern itself after Papua, New Guinnea. If we start killing and eating one another, we will have a lot more room, we won't have to worry about fossil or any fuel for that matter, because there will be plenty again, and no one will starve, that's for sure. At least not the living.

A prez who spends the entirety of his first term undoing all the evils His Royal Orangeness has wrought. Hopefully one term will be enough, but I somehow doubt it. Serious action on climate change. It's already reached tipping point, but without drastic action, "serious" will become "catastrophic". There's still time to prevent a P/T level mass extinction event, but time is running out.
