My dishwasher is broken.  I have no cold water because of a leak.  I need a new oven and a new microwave.  I need.

    NEEEEEED.

If you combine your kitchen with mine, we DO need a full take-down and rebuild.  I need all of what you mentioned a new floor, refrigerator, and cabinets.
The only thing I don't need to replace is Bossy Bob.

    It's a remodel-the-kitchen party if I ever heard one!
    :) :)

A new kitchen two years ago was my wife's Christmas and birthday gift for ten years. Oh...and the pound of green stuff I got her.

:) :).  Very nice and I'm glad you gave her some of that green stuff to make brownies.
It is a mandatory ingredient these days.

You got 10 yrs of gifts for a remodel? That would never fly for my hubby. But good for you lol.
I need a new kitchen as well. We have not gotten around to it. I got a stove at my parents and my BIL can make me a custom counter. I still need the Fridge and Microwave though. Just replaced the dish washer last year.

She was leaking. And I wanted one of color. No seriously.
It was leaking and we are working on switching appliances from white to black. (Not steel or Black steel...I hate that stuff)

    LOL! Touche!

Personally, my preference is that stainless steel look. White & black are not my faves as they show dirt and grime. I like kitchen accouterments that have replaceable panels.

I would love to have a dishwasher at my home but we have a dug well and need to be cautious with our water consumption sometimes.

I like the brighter colors for laundry but not in my kitchen.

Too bad on the dishwasher. Can they have it dug deeper to get a more reliable source?

It's 25 feet deep, M2C.  The home was originally built as a camp and it was more than adequate for it, Since I converted it over to a full-time home, put on an addition, and lived there full time, the water consumption increased.  Typically, there is no problem, especially during the winter and spring, but come summer, especially late August which is the dry season, it's not uncommon for the water table to lower leading to the well to run dry.

There are three streams near the house and if I do run out of water, I do use that for flushing toilets, bathing, cooking, and water for the dogs.

My intent was to have a well drilled at a cost of $12K, but since it's my intent to sell the house come spring and move to  (guess where? lol), I can better use that money for other things.

25ft....wow. Hope you kept a eye on contamination.

12K is kind of crazy. We had one dug years ago 300ft cost $4000 pump and all. But that was 20yrs go so maybe that is the gping rate now. I would not spend it either if I were moving.

It's not called the granite state for nothing. LOL

There is a lot of ledge. Especially since I live on the side of a mountain, M2C. The estimate was about 1400 feet for the well, but the saving grace was that because there WAS ledge, they would not need to use much casing and as you probably know, that's where the money starts adding up. That cost included the pump, holding tank, water softener, and tests.

My well is spring-fed. I get it checked frequently. This year I did not, though. We have nothing to contaminate like industrial waste, but it is a concern in respect to E-Coli from animals

Yeah, they are. I wanted one that had the wood burner on one side and the hot water tank. It was incredible. So was the price tag.
