  • I came to the show a little late and had to do some binge watching.  Pretty funny stuff, especially the first half of the series.

Being that I like Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda very much, I would have liked to have seen the show; however, from the reviews here, I'm not so sure.
Still, I'll give it a glance.

You should watch it, it is a totally cute show. I just have a short attention span for many series.

I'm going to put a post-it on the TV right now.  Tonight, when Don and I get back from work, I'll give it a whirl.
    Thanks Ondine!
    :) :)!

  • Its definitely worth giving it a look-see.
Goat and I have LOLed quite a few times at those wacky broads.  Love 'em.

    No, I haven't.

But, honest, Lily Tomlin and I talked briefly in an alley and we hugged each other. :)

  • OMG Welby that is so cool.
I talked to a Drag Queen dressed as Jane Fonda from "Barbarella" in an ally once.
We hugged too.  LOL!  What an amazing coincidence.

Its always fascinating the people you can meet behind dumpsters.
    Just kidding.

Dude, I want to hear more about this Close Encounter with Ms. Lilly.

I made it sond a bit more interesting than it actually was.

I saw her 'live' on stage and heard that she might greet people after the show. Somehow,  I found out where she would be exiting the theater. There were about 15 - 20 people in the alley between theaters. She came out was very kind to everyone, big smiles. She said that she was sorry she did not have time to greet anyone or sign autographs.
We all just stood there smiling at each other.
I broke the silence and said, "Hey, could I give you a hug?"
She smiled even more and said, "Sure!" as she walked to me. And we hugged.

And then she started hugging everyone else! :)

A small little moment in my life but for the joy and laughter she has given me my entire life, I'm glad we got to connect.

  • I love it.
    Thanks for sharing that, Welby.
I treasure life's little moments like that.
They glisten brightly like gemstones in a pile of coal.

I love this little moment in my life, too. And you expressed here so well!
    :)

You're very welcome about my sharing.

But - - I bet I'd like to have been there hugging your Alley Barbarella Drag Queen, too! :)

    'Yes!" on all counts!

In some ways, what surprised me the most, is that I so naturally, without overthinking, just asked to hug her!

(And then it was a hugging party, ha!)

She is one of the funnest people I've ever seen/heard/known as far as famous people. She's bettered my life with how she makes me feel.

    random --
one of my favorite lines of hers in "9 to 5", and the way she delivers the line

    - - "We're gonna need a special locker for that hat"

    (something like that, ha!)

    Yep!

I'll always have fond memories of having fun watching G&F with you.  We need to get rolling on the next episode soon before they are all dead!
