I hope someone knows more in this case than I do - have to google it - and then - nothing is written in stone, all theory. From what I remember, time is linear? But time is also an illusion...........

I am a seeker in all kind of questions. Time is relative,  it is seen differently by individuals, depending on age, state of health etc. In theory we can live only in the present, which contains past and future. ESP ( Extra sensory perception) seems to verify that. Please, see my commment to E 99's post.

Time is a very personal thing, for an human, for a plant, for a rock. Every second  X trillion  happenings occur in the world, and I just smiled......Our aging is just a moment in time of the universe. We measure time by observing nature, the sun, the moon, the tides, the saisons. Clocks, calendars etc. do the fine print.   Thanks for the song. Will listen to it tomorrow. I am not very familiar with those songs.

So why did the chicken cross the road?
SARAH PALIN: The chicken crossed the road because, gosh-darn it, he's a maverick!
BARACK OBAMA: Let me be perfectly clear, if the chickens like their eggs they can keep their eggs. No chicken will be required to cross the road to surrender her eggs. Period.

JOHN McCAIN: My friends, the chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.
HILLARY CLINTON: What difference at this point does it make why the chicken crossed the road?
GEORGE W. BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either with us or against us. There is no middle ground here.

I can answer that, too - - to a lousy 6% or little more, depending of the brewing country. My father-in-law made a wine from berries, so pure and stiff- you can say a spoon could stand upright in it. The taste was out of this world. Pure berries.

In some moments of my life I wish we never would have started that lifestyle. We were living in the present and never concidered our life in the "Eighties". It makes wonderful memories - but now we have to live out our lives in an RV. My hubby is ailing and unable to manage all the gadgets outside, and I am also unable physically to handle those - like awnings, propane bottles etc. Our neighbors told me to be there for me when I need them, but I am always hesitant to ask.  But then - could I do much better in a house with more living space?? Swipe the floors, clean several bedrooms and baths? The cleaning demands in an RV are the most minimal, but then there are the repairs, which are expensive. Right now one of our double refrigerators/freezers. which work independently, was shutting down. A new cooling unit plus installation costs us about 1000 Dollars. We always have to sleep in the bed we make for ourselves, so to speak, a...    less

It certainly widens one horizon and interest about knowledge concerning countries of the world. When we still lived in Germany, we made already vacations with an RV, we went to Austria, Italy, Netherlands, Danmark, Sweden, Norway. Of course, when we were near Yuma, AZ, we visited Mexico, the colorful city of Algodones, to shop around and had our teeth done. And bought some prescription medicines for a couple of Dollars. When we would have bought those in the US we would have to pay over 100 Dollars per month - and, of course - the pills were made in Phoenix, AZ. Thanks for your reply !!  less

I still remember some words, but the different letters turn me off. When I worked as the administrator office as the assistant in the biggest women hospital in Bremen for 10 years, I was asked if I would be willing to learn the Turkish language, because nobody in the hospital could speak it. I wish I would be able to speak more languages. Does anyone have experiences with it? Edited after E 99's answer:For all those who do not want to google what I mean, I copied a text, which will explain it and save you time....: Along with colors, light also consists of chemical and emotional elements since it emits heat, electricity and magnetism. Thus, light, along with its component colors, can be used for healing the mind, body and spirit. This is the basic principle behind Chromotherapy or color therapy. My husband's very good state of health went down during Christmas time 2018 and in February 2019 he lost total kidney function because of a blood disorder he was diagnosed with in 2004. Next to getting hemodialysis 3 x per week for 4 hrs. each time he had several hospital stays and surgeries, including an heart valve replacement and a stroke followed. Afterwards he was in Stroke Rehab and then he received Physical Therapy in our trailer and he exercises walks now with a rollator/walker. I had to drive him to all appointments and events after not really having driven our long heavy truck for 10 years. I was suddenly a driver, a nurse, a dietitian and doing any heavy chore in our household myself. My hubby is 86 and I will be 84 this month. He had lost so much weight that he still looks like a skeleton with skin. But since September I have another nice small car, our old dually chevy with a crew cab and an 8' bed, which stalled almost at...    less

  • What is Love? Everybody seems to know - but let's take it apart and analyse it..??

In my website I wrote a post about Love:What is Love? My mo...  moreIn my website I wrote a post about Love:What is Love? My mother always said jokingly: "Love is a funny feeling in the area of the belly."        But obviously there is more to it... There are two symbols of love widely used over the world: The red rose and the red heart. Religions in the world elevate Love to be the essence of being. The feeling of being loved or to love someone is so strong that it can be borderline hate. Love is the mightiest of all emotions...Hate cannot forgive, but love can. Love goes beyond the grave. I read so many times that pets, like a dog, love you unconditionally, they would not leave you even if you are starving and have no food for your pet. I watched a story on television once, that a dog did not leave the grave of his master and did not accept food from anybody - he just sat there with sad eyes until he died. We humans have the ability to reason, and it is expected from us that we use it if necessary and act differently....    less

Some animals show tears when they are sad ( like elephants and dogs...) and they are able to grieve to their deaths. Pets are children in our modern society, with all the care a child gets... and so on. In the jurisdiction system animals are a thing - in order to make it easier in courts. For me it stands like this: They can give love and affection, which would be impossible without a soul. I know, I know.....the word soul is a religious word, but it fits!  less

I eat eggs, bacon, salami, butter, whipping cream, ice cream, lots of home-made bread, potatoes, bake cakes and cookies, and have a vodka or whiskey every day to wash it all down. Not to mention red wine...I can afford it because I have a healthy immune system  and a very good functioning heart. Doctors over the years prescribed medicine I never took ( I am just on a little water tablet - age related ). Cholesterol panel is excellent, osteoarthrosis keeps itself within its borders - - and I still feel like 28 rather than 82. It means that all my memories of wonderful happenings with our kids started. It has been a happy time in my hubby's and my life. In Florida we totally ignore Christmas this year.   Edit: Providing a link:   https://www.handelsblatt.com/today/politics/handelsblatt-explains-why-germans-are-so-good-at-christmas/23573528.html?fbclid=IwAR2o2systvec2OWqqOmVYbv8T2emQiVRPOOcpI1CObRirNoKpDEuOz7cXMo&share=fb  less

It is not directed at you.. rather at my friends who speak "jibberish" at times ( their own words). I still have to get used to this part of the American humor. It seemed to me that some people were slightly drunk.  I can delete that post -and then you delete yours. Just tell me.

  • Oh, NO. I had Russian for one year when we lived in the Russian ...  moreOh, NO. I had Russian for one year when we lived in the Russian occupied zone in Germany after the war. I still remember some words, but the different letters turn me off. When I worked as the administrator office as the assistant in the biggest women hospital in Bremen for 10 years, I was asked if I would be willing to learn the Turkish language, because nobody in the hospital could speak it. I said Yes. But shortly after that we decided to live in the USA. So - it never came to it. Because of my Latin, I can read and understand some parts of Spanish and even speak a little. I wish I would be able to speak more languages. I can talk myself through the Netherlands, and I might be able to travel through France with the little knowledge I have because of Germany being the neighbor also. I love languages. But I had only a "5" in Algebra. But that sounds just normal, doesn't it??  less

Es muss heissen: Ich hab' es gelernt in der Schule. You can see how difficult German grammar really is. I had 3 years of Latin, but German beats it when it comes to difficulties, I think.

I also cherish friendships, which I find real, even if I never saw that certain person in front of my eyes. What they write, tells a lot about their characters. Therefore I like real avatars so much, they are precious. But I also can understand that some hold back with this for privacy reasons. Love you too! Karin.

  • About Age

    Posted September 17, 2018

Time is very relative, and so is age. When there would be no mirror or no shining lake surface - the mirror of bygone times - and we would not be able to see our "aging" face, which means sagging skin folds and eye lids or brown spots and wrinkles, we would be not so occupied with looking old - or o...
