Nevan B replied to Retrospective: did you drink more alcohol during the year 2020 than you did in previous years? ~:
No, definitely not. Drinking only holds appeal for me if I'm drinking with friends and I barely saw my friends in 2020. :(

There would have to be proof of collusion among the companies to restrict trade or form a monopoly. It's not easy to win an anti-trust lawsuit.

Nevan B replied to Can we compare covid to a wildfire? It's over when there is no more fuel to burn. :
Basically, yes. The 1918 pandemic died out once so many people had gotten it and become immune that the virus had nowhere to go. So vaccination or herd immunity. Those are our options.

Unfortunately it's easier to dismiss and denounce those with a differing view; it's more difficult to try and understand them and put yourself in their shoes. If we all put in a little more effort, we might not all be at each other's throats over politics, religion, whatever it happens to be.   less

In New York and other big cities "avenue" and "street" are often used to differentiate between perpendicular streets (i.e. avenues will go north-south, streets will go east-west).A lane is often a straight low-traffic road in urban areas or a straight rural road.A court has a cul-de-sac, a way is a short through road, a place is a short dead-end road. A drive is often curved. A boulevard or a parkway is a large multi-lane road. Boulevards tend to be more urban, parkways are landscaped and often go by or through parks. An expressway is a large multi-lane road with few signals to facilitate speed. I'm very interested in maps and civil planning, so I've learned this over the years. :)  less

Sometimes it's due to stress or being too warm at night, and sometimes there's no clear reason.Unfortunately, in the past couple weeks I'm developing a pattern where I wake up in the middle of the night (between 3-5; I fall asleep around 11:30 or midnight) and am unable to go back to sleep. When I wake up in the middle of the night, I feel wide awake, no yawning or tiredness, as if I'm ready to start the day...except I'm not.How do you get out of a bad sleep pattern?  less

It was started by two white girls who based their recipes on techniques they learned in Mexico. The shop was shut down after negative media attention surrounding accusations of racism and "cultural appropriation" when the girls shared with a news source that they "peeped" in on older Mexican women making burritos and tried to replicate the recipe in the U.S.They were soon accused of stealing the recipes and thousands of negative Yelp reviews appeared. :)  less

I plan on attending next year if it is back on. Although I was for the most part a quiet nerd in high school, I had a good group of close friends a few of which I still spend time with. My best friend and I were planning on attending together.

Hey, I had it in my mind that your birthday was April 3rd. If so, Happy Birthday :D If not, well I apologize, but I know it's in April! Either way, turning 18 is fun--though being a legal adult and still in high school was kind of annoying to me!
