  • I grew up in an English-speaking household.  However, my parents told me that I was always shy, very rarely talked and that I didn't speak any English until I started school as a 5-year-old.

When I was working at the corporation from which I retired, we had a manager over in public affairs who had a doctorate in English.  She was the arbiter of language disputes that might come up for writings to be published and sometimes in press releases, legal briefs, and motions.

  • I have not, but I am a linguist so I pride myself on being able to answer those questions without additional help :) This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at July 9, 2021 4:55 PM MDT
