Do you have a family member to whom you now regret having given your contact information?

I have an aunt whose sister-in-law sends chain messages to everyone she knows, and by extension, to many people she doesn’t really know but has their contact information. My wife and I only met her a few times back in the 1990s, we haven’t seen her since. She uses text messages, email, Facebook, Twitter, any form of social media that she can find, and she sends out chain messages about things such as religious, numerology-related, astrological, financial, educational, quality-of-life, child-rearing, recipes, lame jokes, famous quotes, book suggestions, whatever meets her fancy. She’s about 70 to 75 years old, she retired from a tech job a few years ago. If and when we block her on one medium, she crops up a few weeks later on another one. We have never forwarded even one of her chain messages to anyone, in the beginning, we used to tell her that, and it horrified her.  Every time we asked her not to include us on her chain mailing lists, she was extremely offended and put out ambiguous messages about how rude she thinks young people are these days. I have never been on Facebook or Twitter or any of those others, but my wife is. I couldn’t stand receiving the texts, emails and voicemails from this lady, so I booted her long ago, but everyone else in the family considers her harmless and they tolerate it. I’m persona non grata in her eyes, which is fine by me. She often refers to me as Mr. Too Good For Us.

Why would you give any family member your contact information?  Have you learned nothing from all those Thanksgivings you've had to endure over the years?  Family members are crackpots!

Sort emails from her to a special box so you can ignore them or mass delete them.  Hide her posts on social media (she won't know and you won't see them, so win/win).  Do NOT send her anything!  Not even a computer virus (no matter how tempting)... it'll only exacerbate the situation (also, most ISPs tend to frown on that kind of thing).

      Thank you.

I knew when I posted this that some people might assume that I’m seeking advice on how to avoid or remedy the problem, but that’s not the case. I just wanted to see if any of you have had similar experiences.

Giving out email and a phone number is no problem.

Why do you have "and" between "thank you."

Just joking around, changing things up every now and then.

My family and relatives all have my contact information, but we all respect each other's privacy. So my answer is no. :)
