  • I'm a relaxed passenger. Once, flying from Perth (on the west coast of Oz) to Sydney, I whiled away the time by calculating how long it would take to hit the deck if all four engines cut out at the same time. 

    As it turned out, I got it wrong because as somebody on Ask told me, I hadn't allowed for the glide proportion -- as brief as that might have been.

  • Ever since that bad accident a long time ago, I get anxious when I'm the passenger. I prefer to drive whenever I can. I trust very few people to drive.
