Our "kids" are in their 50's. How old are your "kids"? You remain a "kid" as long as your parents are alive. Are you "kid"/adult now?

So when your parents die you're no longer a kid. You're stuck being an adult. Aren't you also an orphan?

  • My parents have both passed away many years ago, so I guess that makes me an adult! I guess. LOL.
My kids are all in their 40's now and two have kids of their own now.
Since I'm the only living survivor of our family? I guess I'm an orphan as my brother went M.I.A. in 1968 during the "Tet" offensive and my sister passed away from complications from Lupus in the 80's. Just me now. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at May 15, 2017 9:08 AM MDT

How about Jim and I adopting you Rooster? His darling sister Jo passed away a few years ago. I have one younger sister who is 72. You could be a brother? I'm just sayin' no reason for you to be "just me now" m'dear. Our dad died in January 1960. Jim's parents are both gone. In fact I never met them. They had passed on before Jim and I met. My mom died about ten years ago at which time my sister and I both became adults and orphans immediately. Everyone goes through it. Anyway I've always wanted a brother. When I was a teenager I wanted one who was a couple years older. I was very shy and it sure would have been great to have a big brother looking out for me. But I don't need an older brother. A younger one will do just fine!  Anyway it's on the table! Condolences on your brother's missing in action and sister's passing. Jim's sister died of complications from emphysema which she got because her husband (who died from cancer) smoked for so many years. She was on oxygen 24/7 her last year. A gift from her husband! :( This post was edited by RosieG at May 15, 2017 7:01 AM MDT

Our kids range from 41 years down to our youngest, who is 31.  We have 3 daughters and one son. So I am an adult
