You believe you know what is fair for you. Do you also know what is fair for others too? How?

    What is fair for others is what they need plus what they want with respect to what others need and want. In other words, everyone's needs MUST be met. IF AND ONLY IF everyone's needs are met, we can start to consider wants. With the remaining resources, we calculate everyone's wants, first pandering to the smallest wants, and working our way to the larger wants. This is what is fair, and what is anti-greed without being anti-aspiration. 

     

    Also from each according to their ability, to each according to their needs.

      Very greedy people confuse their WANTS with needs and often take more than their share thus depriving others of their needs. We see it all the time. What you describe is the ideal with people who are not selfish/greedy/self-centered ISS. How many of the other kind are there in the world versus how many of the kind you describe? Aye there's the rub. Thank you for your thoughtful answer! :)
