      Nope, not at all.
      I consider the majority of them to be the law enforcement officers to the insect world.
      (Before you even start, people such as Stu, yes, I already know that they are not insects themselves, and that is not what I wrote above, I intentionally used the phrase “to the insect world” as opposed to “of the insect world. Grrrrrrr.)

    Only the poisonous ones like the black widow, the rest are my friends.  They are just trying to live life like every other living thing.  I let them be, if indoors I gently take them outside.  Spiders are a vital part of the eco system.

    No, since venomous spiders are not native to Minnesota I have little reason to be afraid.

    Is that a butterfly catcher, the bottom looks open so it could be a seal catcher, kind of small for that however.

    No, spiders are friendly. I had a pet huntsman when I was a kid. Except the Sydney funnel web, I didn't make friends with those. Deadly AND aggressive, packs a punch that makes a black widow's bite a love tap by comparison.

    It's ALL good. Utterly harmless to humans, sudden death to pests like roaches, silverfish etc. They've even been known to tackle mice.

    Do you know what creeps into my memory? A stark subconscience dream of yelling in increasing loudness: hey hey hey Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!, While staring at the living room photos in front of me stationary where I was neglected and tripping on acid a lot in my youth. Save me maybe. Listen to me for a change.     You know? Somebody told me if I had a brain, I'd be dangerous. I believe it. Even as I was happy they gave me brain control drugs after living on cough syrup for two and a half years.
