What is the most interesting animal you have seen in the wild?

      Why do you respond with “nothing new”? And why the @#%¥/! should anything about your experiences and your lawn have anything to do with my answer?
      It just happened to be new for me, because even though I had seen lots of deer in my lifetime, it was my first time seeing the Grand Canyon in person, and in answering her question, I reflected on the deer sighting, it was one particular aspect that stood out from an otherwise absolutely interesting experience overall, and it related directly to the question that was asked.
      So there.

    Probably a white squirrel. I'm not fond of squirrels in general, but seeing a white one isn't that common.

    I don't live in the wild but I saw a black bear when I went out to get my mail two nights ago.  He had no interest in me and I moved very slowly back to my house.  This is the second time I've seen a black bear since I've lived down here.  The other time he/she was running down a residential road in my sister's neighborhood.

    I would be scared and excited, both. This guy sits on his front porch and makes Youtube videos of the bears who come to visit. He and the bears seem to coexist peacefully and respect each other's boundaries

    They aren't generally aggressive but don't want you to walk toward them.  If they feel threatened they are something else.  I grew up camping in the Smokies in Tennessee a lot.  Black bears aplenty there.  The babies are unbelievably precious.   There is a reserve for wild animals close to here.  We get visitors at night sometimes when they go exploring.

    I think I saw two pine martens once, on a dirt road, while jogging (while I was jogging, officer). I had just moved to Serbia and thought they would become a common sight -- haven't noticed them since. 

    As a child, I followed one of the cats into a cornfield. She led me to what I remember as being a scorpion-like animal, which scared me so much I instantly ran back. No one would believe what I saw, except for my grandmother. I'll have to ask mom what the name of that creature was, again... Can't find it on Google.

    Martens here are nocturnal, so maybe they only go jogging at night.

    Hehe, same goes for European pine martens, by the look of it. This did happen as night was falling -- I had started running too late. Or just in time, it turned out.

    Perfectly fine, thanks for asking! I think the other animal was still alive; not that they had seemed to fight or anything. 

    But I do wonder why the cat appeared to lead me there (or if I'm completely skewing what happened). No other cat has done anything similar since.
