    The problem of misunderstanding here comes in what was actually written at the top of the screen.

    It placed certain limits and two opposing versions of the hypothesis, and I and others went by those; but I examined both questions numerically to be as fair as possible to the OP.

    As well as significant sea-level rise from large volumes of land ice thawing (not just the mere 9mm of Greenland's alone), could be additional rise by thermal expansion, but I don't know the possible figures for that.

    What we can be sure, is that if Greenland's ice melts by climate change, it won't melt alone. So will that around the world at those latitudes, as well as ice at high altitudes - rising by, well, who knows? That putative seven metres? Quite possibly, eventually....
