Has anyone in answermug "introduced" you to a song or musical artist and you immediately became a fan?

I'll post one artist, Tarja here. (And Nightwish with Tarja is a favorite, too.)

    I became a fan of the song. I knew of Freddie Mercury but not Montserrat Caballe or the song. (Though both singers are great!)

    I had not heard of either this song or the artist and I love both! And the music video is absolutely perfect to me.

    Now that I think of it, an online friend DID introduce that song to me.  It was a few years back and he was always posting music.

    Not here on AM, but I did get introduced to music I had never heard of in my real life.   I worked with a girl that introduced me to all sorts of ecliptic music that I love to this day.  We worked on the top floor together, so she was always playing her music out loud.

    This music video and the group - - the first time I saw/heard this song ~ an immediate fan!
    This music video is such a blast!! (I especially love when the keyboardist gently pushes her guitar out of his way.)

    I think in many ways, for reasons of which I'm unsure, I find myself underexposed somehow to various music styles/artists/etc. I'm lucky, though, that I 'listen' around and pick up things where I can.

  • One of our former moderators on blurtit made me a fan of the groups Halestorm and Pretty Reckless. All it took was one song from each group and I was hooked!

    I've not heard of either group! There is so much music out there --  I get frustrated sometimes if I think of it too much, that there is so much music I'd probably like if I only heard it.
    I should look up Halestorm and Pretty Reckless.
