Do you usually think you'll be more right about something because you keep repeating yourself?

My experience is the more you keep repeating yourself, the more your audience stops listening to you. What are your experiences?

I would do as 'some' Hispanic mothers did, and still do.  I'd throw my 'chancla' (slipper) at them. I never hit them with it, but it served as a warning.  lol.

My mother used to throw shoes at me and I would throw them right back at her.

    I hate repeating myself.
And don't you hate it when you tell someone while they are repeating themselves that you already heard that story and they keep going?
I have a friend who not only keeps repeating the same stories, but they are always in the same sentence structure.

It is awful. I hate meeting new people with her because she runs down the same old stories to them that I have heard a 100 times.
Now I just leave the room if I can.

I recognize that as a propaganda device. It is one the Nazis used, as well as force. (Photo). I don't think it works for a lot of people, but it does work for others.

As propaganda it can be useful. However, I don't recall having seen any effect of it used in private forums. Thank you for participating. :-)

  • Ha ha. My first impulse was to say "no" try again, then I figured we'd just get into trouble.

I keep saying I only have 10-15 years left and was reminded again this morning by my Doctor.
It would have been nice to spend them with "him."   The last nine years would have been nice as well.

    Nope, nope, nope and nope.

Especially on here.  If you present your comment and it is not understood, I'll bet you the farm that you can repeat till the cows come home and it still won't penetrate. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at January 17, 2017 12:33 PM MST
