    Actually, I read that in one of the books in CS Lewis's Space Trilogy---Perelandra....

    In a similar vein:..."Of his instruments, you were the chief, but the responsibility does not rest on your shoulders."

    I read most of his books about 40 years ago.  Wonderful phraseology.

    I kinda have the opposite experience.  

    When I was younger, that is when I really felt insignificant.  I didn't have a good sense of any self worth and felt pretty powerless in the world around me.

    Age and life experiences has changed a lot of my thinking.  I know I am significant to those I love and love me back.  I can make choices that may even make a small difference in someone's life.  That is significant enough for me.
