  • "Get" seems to be American slang for "understand," or so I inferred from the way the word was used by eighties workshops like EST and Forum.
    Assuming that's the sense in which you ask... no, I don't get Randy, and doubt I ever will.
    I know a tiny few facts about him:
    he'shighly intelligent, has a sharp wit, likes to tease but stays within polite limits,
    and loves language when it's used well, 
    middle-aged, married with kids, conservative,
    American black, anti-racist, very wary of potential racism in whites.
    Otherwise, I think he keeps himself exceptionally well cloaked and despite having been here for years,
    he's a really hard person to get to know.
    My guess is that he might be a lawyer.
    But my perception may be skewed since i never had the opportunity to get to know him any better.
