The first televised prez debate was September 26, 1960 between JFK and Nixon. Debates are not legally mandatory. Why have them in 2016? We KNOW for whom we are going to vote right now. Right?

How much wasted time seeing/hearing these two old folks regurgitate everything they have said already more often than we can count?  Why not save money and time? Let them keep going out to rallies and speeches and let them eviscerate each other. We can catch up on the evening news. Nothing new will be said. We've heard it all before. The script is set in stone. It never changes. Why a dog&pony show this late in the game? What's the point? Who is kidding whom here and why?

Beleive it or not there are alot of people who have just now started to pay any attention to the election at all.  I personally like debates..I also have been following it for along time now.

The debates would be better if fact checking were readily available, or a buzzer would go off each time they lied.

A president does not need to just have policy but needs to be able to hold his own in a debate with other politicians either domestically or with foreign leaders. We will see which one is better capable of doing that in an environment where press secretaries are not taking the hard questions and staff cannot be blamed and resigned to take the heat off and where it won't just be friendly media asking friendly questions. Also there are still enough undecided voters that either candidate could win, as well as the continued trend of hillary support dropping in favor of trump support.

  • Trump is going to massacre her!
Not even joking on this one.
Do you truly think her limp wagging finger and slow dragging tone is gone to shake Trump?
Regardless of Anything anybody says, this guy debated himself all the way to a Grant Old Party Nomination.
And this even not having an idea of what the hell they were talking about.
    VOTE NOT TRUMP!

You know I've been following it from the git-go. But is there anything that anyone can say that will change your mind m2c? All you are going to hear more attacks by each of them going over the  same ground they have been going over for months and months. I would be shocked if anything useful, substantive, new or helpful results from anything said by either candidate in all 3 debates. How many times can you listen to the sameoldsameoldsameoldsameold before you go bonkers? Thank you for your reply m2c! :)

We shall see. Trump is a pompous ignoramus. He will not be scripted nor have a teleprompter to use as crutches. He may be wearing an earpiece to listen to a feed of what he should say and could easily be coached by others...I wouldn't put it past him. He cheats and lies all the time. He cannot control the questions asked by the moderators. I will be surprised if he even shows up. He could chicken out and blame Hillary or the Dems or the media or the moderators. Nothing is ever his fault according to him. Thank you for your reply NDT and Happy Thursday to thee! :)

Why are YOU thanking ME NDT? For what? For asking the question? Thank you for your reply! :)

  • ROSIE I understand everything you just said, but see, you think people are super awesome smart like you. If they were, he wouldn't be were he is. I'm not giving him any credit, personally or politically. But people don't care, ROSIE. They didn't care with Rubio, they didn't care with Cruz, and they are not going to care with Hillary.
People want an image, a strong in control image, not her little slow sleepy dragging tone.
I'm not talking about preference here. This is what he does. And people love it.
    But you're right, well see.
    Thank you.
