They think he has done no wrong. They think he does not lie. They think he has their own best interest in mind. He is honest honorable truthful and self-sacrificing.

They are "stupid dumb" in the sense of the evil they service but they are not stupid. They know precisely what he is and what he isn't. They love him adore him worship him and in their eyes he can do no wrong though they are acutely aware of how deep his evil goes. They don't care.
Blind acceptance. Unquestioned loyalty. Devotion beyond the grave. They own him as much as he owns them.
A marriage made in he** or heaven and lived on earth. It is very ugly to some and the most beautiful thing they've ever seen to others.
