The Founding Fathers may have been very smart but they were also very naive. Why?

Because they did not foresee a Corrupt executive branch thoroughly corrupting the Legislative and Judicial branches. The plan of checks and balances they thought would protect us has failed miserably. There is NO PLAN B. In their ingenuous naivete they could not foresee a situation as the one that exists today.

So navigating will be treacherous and dangerous and the roughest part is yet to be.

They tried to set up a workable democracy which has lasted until now. No one knows what to do. The people who have the power to correct the flaws are flawed and corrupt. No recourse. Is insurrection all that's left?

    They were extraordinary visionaries.

No one 200 years ago could have foreseen what was to come 200 years from then any more than you or I can envision what will happen 200 years from now.

But that aside, I see your point.  But who could ever imagine a maniac like this and his arsenal of bad actors

I understand don. I understand SOME complicit bad actors. BUT THE ENTIRE REPUBLICAN PARTY? That is something I shall never comprehend. The vile evil corruption that exists in that party must have always been there dormant. The don arrived and with great intensity he has brought it all out. Except for Senator Mitt Romney collectively it has no soul no heart no mind. Who could have imagined that one crackpot wackadoodle could achieve that? So now we're stuck with no known escape route. We wait and watch and wonder what the he** will the don do next? We know whatever it is he will get away with it. Invincible. Thank you for your reply Sharon and Happy Thursday.
