Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Ever see/hear a woman who played the trumpet trombone saxaphone clarinet? Years ago there was the Ina Ray Hutton all-girl band. Remember it?
Yes. Two very successful and popular female saxophone players immediately come to mind, both of whom have garnered global and domestic recognition with Grammy nominations and hit songs charting on the Billboard Charts.
One is Mindi Abair...
The other is Candy Dulfer...
There is also an extremely popular all-female instrumental band specializing in contemporary takes on famous classical pieces adapting them for the modern audience. The members each play various instruments alternating them as the composition requires. They have seen both critical praise and phenomenal record/CD sales worldwide.
The name of the band is "BOND"

((hugs)) Thanks for that nifty info Twink. I HAVE HEARD OF BOTH OF THEM and had no clue what instrument they played but I think I've heard both of them play on a local jazz station I used to listen to all the time now that I think of us...KTWV...THE WAVE. Don't know if it still exists but I remember the dulcet sounds of smooth jazz coming out of somewhere rare! Happy Wednesday m'dear! :)
