It's called THE BLACK SOX SCANDAL but
In 1919 the Chicago White Sox were accused of throwing a game because they were paid to do so. Shoeless joe jackson and others were deprived of being in the Baseball Hall of Fame for it. Apparently mobsters were the ones who paid the Sox to throw the game. A great shame.
Apparently the lesson was not learned and cheatng flourished. Got caught cheating. Tsk tsk tsk.
What now baseball fans? Is the game tainted because participants are crooks? Does major league baseball attract crooks?
