Allegedly Bloomberg was massively prepped and practiced for the debate. So what happened to him? Did he freeze? Stage fright?

I mean surely he has taken the stages a bazillion times before and spoken in front of huge crowds for decades. How could he get the yips and go stone cold at such a crucial time?

Ever freeze anywhere for any reason? Some folks freeze in test situations but they know the work. They just can't connect to it for whatever reason.

That is not a good trait in someone who is supposed to lead a country and be swift on his feet at all times. What if he were to freeze at an inopportune time? What then? Could it be a vestige of senility come home to roost? Seriously. His performance was shocking to me of all of them. Mentally undependable is not good.

He needs to fire his prepper....he did awful.

He should have been ready. Those attacks were not a surprise. He should have had an answer.

He is not practiced. He gives speeches. But speeches are not debates.  He does not even take questions after his speeches and has not done interviews. He is not used to being challenged directly.   How does he think he can stand next to Trump? This post was edited by my2cents at February 21, 2020 6:47 AM MST

We totally agree m2c. I read that he had MANY very tough prep sessions. The preppers kept throwing TOUGH questions at him allegedly to prepare him for the possible attacks to come. He looked like a deer in the headlights. I could not believe it. He seemed petrified at first though he did get a bit better later. But first impressions are important. His stunk. So I dunno what we will see/hear the next time but if he doesn't turn it around massively he's done. Thank you for your reply! :)

Former NBA player Tim Hardaway (arguably deserving of being in the Hall of Fame) practiced basketball for tens of thousands of hours in his lifetime.

Yet, one night in Minnesota, he shot 0-for-17 in an NBA game (it's the record for most shots in a game without a single make).

If I thought long enough, I'm sure I could find other examples of very practiced people who had very bad performances on a given day.

Whatever you think of Bloomberg (and I am not a fan), I don't know if performance in a single debate tells us much about him.

I don't know enough about him to have an opinion SP. That is the point of having debates to see how these folks comport themselves. Quick on your feet with knowledgeable intelligent replies is very high on my list of WANTS/DEMANDS. He failed miserably. All I know about him now is that he stunk his first time out. I understand that any given person or any given team at any given time for any given reason or lack thereof can do very badly against any given competitor. I have witnessed it. But this man at this time for this reason to fade? Timing sucks bigly don'tcha think? Thank you for your thoughtful reply. Timing is important. If his is bad a lot it bodes ill.
