I honestly don't know who the man was. I don't follow football (or whatever it was he did for a living). I have sympathy for the family who must strive to go on with a unfillable hole in their lives, but I really don't know much about him or his daughter.
His entire career was spent with the Los Angeles LAKERS basketball team Shuhak. He and Shaquille O'neal played at the same time. For maybe 14 years? I'm not sure. So he was more than an excellent basketball star but it isn't that people are mourning. It's the person he became AFTER he retired. Supporting women's basketball. Donating a lot of money to variolus causes. Supporting his daughtrer GIGI who was 13 and LOVED playing basketball and said her dad didn't need a son...she would be the next Kobe in basketball. It is all heartbreaking. His early days he was not a good human being at all. Scandal and excess. But maybe being a dad of 4 girls showed him the light and why he devoted himself to women's causes almost exclusively. Thank you for your kind thoughts even though you were not a fan. I appreciate that a great deal. :(
