How much effect would a badly tanking economy due to a pandemic affect the dumb don's chances for re-election?

His entire SCHTICK is a strong economy. If it's badly broken due to something he did not cause will he be  held harmless and re-elected? Or is he is in deep sh** right now and sinking deeper faster because of it?
