Save us from those who lie and strive to make america great again IN THEIR OWN IMAGE. GREAT resides in all of us collectively. NO?

How about the POTENTIAL for it?

The ability to make America great (again?) does indeed lie within us all.  We have the power, the skills, the resources, ... why we even have the money to do it.   Everything we need is right there in front of us, well within our grasp.  The only thing that's stopping us from achieving that goal is we are not what our nation's name claims we are - united.  We are a nation divided. Not by state lines or political parties, but by intolerance.  We hate our 'neighbor' because their skin is a different color, or they don't practice "our" religion, or they have a different economic situation, or they come from a different nationality background.  So we fight and bicker; each claiming that their skin color, nationality background, religion or economic status is the "best" one.

We need to learn to tolerate others.  If we see our 'neighbor' in need, we should help them - no matter what color their skin, what religion they profess, their nationality background or how rich they may be.  It's not an easy task.  We have been divided for so long that our prejudices run deep.  However, once we are united again, America will indeed be "great".

Children born to FASCISTS/BIGOTS/RACISTS will inevitably be fascists bigots racists. These folks drag their kids to dumb don rallies. Drag their kids to gun shows. Drag their kids to shooting ranges. Have photos of dumb don in their homes. How do they escape THAT? They are ruined before they ever get out into society. They are lobotomized brainwashed hypnotized. Bad luck for them. Thank you for your thoughtful reply Shuhak. There is no hope in what you write because mostly people are rigidly certain they are right and "the other" is wrong. :(

    How bold!!!

You are implying that principles are not only important but also necessary---because they are what actually determine the policies that are implemented!!!

    How right!!!
