Does everything have a bright side? All you have to do is look for it and you will find it? Is there any bright side to pandemics?

I read somewhere that due to the epidemic in China, their air pollution has decreased greatly - and posible for long term.

Maybe this pandemic will teach us (force us) to promote better hygiene.  (much like the california drought helped change the ways we use water)

Maybe while working on a cure for this virus, we may discover the cure for another as well (cancer, alzheimer's?).

There are endless possibilities.  Even so, it wont negate the tremendous tragedy we are going through or have yet to go through.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply Shuhak. Less air pollution is a definitely a silver lining thought the cost of it is far too dear. Endless possibilities. True dat. Happy Monday! :)

The Black Death was a great tragedy. However, the decrease in population
caused by the plague increased the wages of peasants. As a result, peasants
began to enjoy a higher standard of living and greater freedom.

  • This pandemic has already gotten bad enough to effect the stock market domestically and globally which means economies begin to falter.  The upside to this is that interest rates are often lowered giving people more incentive to make purchases thereby stimulating the economy.  After tragedies auto rates often drop and even mortgage rates can fall.  This can be advantageous to consumers.  If you'll recall doofus George W. Bush famously and moronically said after 9/11..."go shopping."  0% interest was everywhere.  Perhaps though there was accidental wisdom in that shallow statement of his.  As far as the coronavirus goes.  Be patient.  Eventually everything will be marked down and priced to move, at least for those still living.  Sad huh?

Thank you for a most excellent reply to my question Twink. I wonder how long it will be to the other side of this? I wonder how many will survive unscathed? I wonder how many refuse to accept it at all? Happy Monday to you m'dear! :)
