I'm not slamming Trump. I'm just wondering how he can on the one hand advocate the stop/frisk/take away the gun while simultaneously defending the second amendment? You too?  Isn't there a connection between the two? How could anyone not understand that you just can't do that. It's odd that Republicans believe it's the Dems want to take their guns away yet they are not attacking Trump for advocating that very thing. Can someone explain it to me please?

Hmm. What happened to all the beautiful people who should have a gun strapped to their waist or ankle..?

Can we have both, take away the guns and have them strapped to the bodies at the same time? What does he mean? Does it even matter what he means?

I dunno sweetie but Trump, like it or not, is the elephant in every room currently. It is very hard to ignore him. Whether what he says has any meaning at all I cannot say. But I am a person who relies on words to understand what people think and trying to rely on his words  is impossible since they are all  over the place contradicting one another consistently. I know. I should just give up trying to understand. It's just that I am not a giver upper. I hang in and keep trying until the end. In this case I don't know yet when or if the end will come. Thank you for your reply SH and the questions you ask. I wish I could answer them but I haven't a clue. :(

I'd say anyone who think they can tell what he really means are delusional. As you so correctly said, he is contradicting himself consistently.

I just giggled SH. Sounds to me as if no one understands anything Trump says but his supporters don't mind. They're totally used to the nonsense and it simply doesn't register with them. It's just the rest of us who are finding it very difficult! :) AARRGGHH!!

Very true. You can see some of the second guessing around this place when his supporters try to justify, or explain what they think he might have meant saying what he did. Makes a lot of sense, no?

I believe he is talking about illegal guns. Or people who are not legally allowed to have a gun.
Those who are conceal carrying without a permit if required.

I agree with your interpretation of what he was saying.

Could you provide the source or link to his statement. NYPD had been doing just that and the courts ruled it unconstitutional.

We must never forget when Trump (and/or his supporters) advocate such positions, they only apply to N*gg*rs, Sp*cs, and F***ING HADJIS. Sarah Palin's "Real Americans" are allowed to purchase and/or carry guns with impunity.

One need merely recall what happened in California in the late 1960s when N*gg*rs started exercising their "Second Amendment Remedies"...

Yep, the Great Conservative Saint Ronald Reagan passed a gun control bill so fast it made everyone's head spin.

Never ever EVER forget the root of Trump/Alt-right nonsense is based upon bigotry.

It took me less time to type "Donald Trump stop and frisk" in Google than you spent "answering" this question.

    www.nytimes.com/2016/09/22/us/politics/donald-trump-don-king-black-...

This suggests you didn't really want to spend the time finding out that RosieG was basing her question upon discernible reality.

Just would be nice if a source was quoted when making statements like that.

Right, because NYC's "stop and frisk" program was conducted in such an even-handed respectful non-bigoted manner....;-D...

You are welcome back in the Reality-Based Community at any time....

  • Now it's just a matter of bashing 'mainstream media' and giving the standard explanation of Trump saying one thing but really meaning another.

@d708 -- In principle, I agree with you.

But there are degrees. The latest Donald Trump gaffe is a laughably easy thing to check for yourself. That's very different than someone saying something like "Certain groups have lower IQs than others, check the research" without providing links as a starting point.

I stand by my previous assertion that you didn't spend 5 seconds on Google because you didn't WANT to acknowledge that Trump really said something that stupid.

    Hello OS:

North Carolina is an open carry state - maybe - at least for some...  I wonder what would have happened to a black person if he woulda showed up at the demonstration with a BIG gun strapped to his leg..

I assume this would apply to those who are legally not able to own or carry the gun. This isn't very hard to figure out and does not need expansion to be clear unless someone is being dense with the purpose of trying to make trump look dense.

The same guns that are always used as an argument for why gun regulations won't work?

Once again I giggled  SH. Trump supporters have to constantly pretzelize themselves to justify/explain what he meant. Some things that he says they say he doesn't mean. In other words they can go inside his brain and determine intent and then explain it to the rest of us who only have Trump's words to go by. Thank you for your reply SH and the nifty graphic and Happy Saturday! :)

How would you know whom they are m2c? Don't you have to have  justifiable cause to do that? Do the conceal carriers carry the permit with them at all times? Thank you for your reply. :)

I dunno  SH. A massive amount of what Trump says makes no sense to me. I keep hoping it makes a lotta sense to others and perhaps they would be kind enough to share that with us. Thank you for your reply! :)

It has come to my attention OS that many people live outside the realm of knowledge gained by having information. What Donald  Trump says is all over the tube all the time over and over and over and over. One cannot escape it. He is on tape saying the exact words I said he said and yet  we have those who want "PROOF". They can question opinions. But consistently questioning FACTS that are readily available? Can they really be that out of touch with what is going on 24/7? Unless they live in a cave or are deaf/dumb/blind I fail to see how anyone can be so oblivious. Mahalo for your reply and the link. I guess there really  are folks who in this day and age really don't understand/comprehend/know how to GOOGLE! Imagine that?  :(

Right. His supporters are all interpreters char and KNOW what he meant and they will tell us that since they are mind readers as well as intention readers. The rest of us are limited by what Trump said and have no clue what resides/lurks inside his head.  Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday! :)
