Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Are weddings being held as planned or are they all being postponed? Anyone know anyone who is planning to get married soon?
I think all the planning and rigamarole of a wedding might be cut down to size in a situation that is REALLY LIFE OR DEATH. What color of flowers what kind of cake how many to invite what to feed them etcetera and so forth. WHAT DOES IT MATTER if you're dead from a virus? I think your ideas are good. I don't know how much down payment folks make on various facets of a big wedding or how far in advance they have to pay or if any of those payments are refundable. Glad I don't have that worry! Thank you for your reply Shuhak! :)

Not here, not now, in the UK: from today all churches closed except for funerals, presumably also registry-offices or other premises licensed for weddings. this is part of a raft of measures unprecedented in a country that values free association and movement and refuses such delights as ID cards, martial law, registration with the Police and the like. As I understand it, they are more stringent than anything in WW2, when travel was limited by rationing of fuel.
We can only hope the measures don't need last more than the possible 6 months or so but will be reviewed regularly for relaxing, continuing or tightening as necessary.
