One wonders when looking at how critical his own audience is to fact checking him all the time... Oh, not... They take it all for the truth because he promises it's the truth, and a "Christian" man like him would never lie about a promise, right? LMAO.

Right you are m'dear! Trump is as perfect as any man ever could be in the eyes/hearts/minds of his supporters. He is in fact the second coming for them. No matter what he says/does/does not do/say they will never criticize nor abandon him. He is their  guy and they are his peeps. No doubt about it. Sad to say. Of course he SAYS the Bible is his favorite book and his Art of the Deal is his second favorite. They believe that too! :( Thank you for your thoughtful reply and the video and Happy Monday SH! :)

They will both lie and the media lies too so who can be trusted to fact check in the first place?

Fact checking is also opinion based on some statements. Trump said that Hillary started the birther movement which is a false statement if taken to mean that hillary personally came up with that and pushed it but a true statement if understood as her campaign put the question out to try to discredit her opponent.

Do pro wrestlers or reality show contestants have their claims about others fact-checked in real time? Of course not.

Trump isn't debating HRC in any traditional sense of the world. His entire campaign is based upon keeping the media circus going. Sober spoilsport processes like fact-checking impede the spectacle.

    Hello Rosie:

Reporting is NOT stenography.. If somebody LIES, it's NOT the media's job to REPEAT the lie..  It's their job to CALL it a lie..

It is not the moderators job to fact check. Their job is to ask questions and perhaps a follow up question. But the debate is between Clinton and Trump not Clinton, Trump and the moderator. It each of their job to call the other on a lie.
If you remember CNN moderator Candy something interjected herself in the Obama/Romney debate ...."correcting" Romney about if Obama had referred to Benghazi as a terrorist attack in first few weeks (he did not...he and the whole administration claimed it was a protest gone bad) That is the problem with them fact checking they can be wrong as Candy was. She is no longer on the air either.
We all know all the media spins, why would we this moderator would not also spin during a debate?
