I guess the volume is so great that cemetaries are overflowing. Does anyone understand what is going on?
Whether or not a body is cremated or buried lies with the person who once owned the body or with their family. That’s common respect. Currently there are no funerals allowed in NY (no gatherings of people). Thus, they “save" the bodies for a time when they can be properly "laid to rest". Meantime, the bodies keep stacking up and there are only so many refrigerated trucks (bodies break down 48-72 hours after death). Temporarily burying them in Central park is simply a way to get them out of the way.
