I've spoken of this before. "The Picture of Dorian Gray". What if that were our reality, adjusted slightly?

Dorian Gray doesn't age at all. He stays handsome year after year decade after decade. Then he dies and as the life goes out of him you see him transformed into something very ugly and hard to look at. You see he had a portrait hidden in a closet that did all the aging transforming while time went by. At death he became what the portrait was and the portrait like magic was returned to what he looked like as a young man.

I was thinking WHAT IF homo saps were unable to hide whom they are? What if, like the picture, each evil deed/word would manifest itself in their outward appearance? How they treated others. If they lied betrayed sabotaged undercut harmed it would all appear on the body the faces the appendages? What you see would be what you get. No amount of makeup or plastic surgery could change a thing. You would be able to judge the book by its cover absolutely.

Would there be more gargoyles than things of beauty? Gnarled and wrinkled with all the evil they did/said etched on their faces? Would they all hide under hoods because they were becoming so HIDEOUS? Or would HIDEOUS become the standard of beauty to which all would aspire?
