Show your patriotism! Vote at the polls and chance dying because if you vote by mail we know you don't care about your country. Right y'all?

That's the script y'all are married to. We know.

Vote by mail is not as secure and people may "help" others with their vote.

Since 2012 there were at least 23M votes by mail that were lost.  No one knows what happened to them.  That does not sound very secure to me.

    Vote in person with ID.

I'd like to see some link to verify your claim.  If a mail-in ballot was not received, it doesn't mean it was lost.  It could mean that the voter decided to vote in person.  What I did find was that mail-in ballots were less likely to be counted.  That doesn't mean they were lost, only that no one bothered to count them.  Big difference.

I had no idea this was such a big problem.  Seems as though there are issues no matter how we vote.

Yes and that does not even count when the "find" boxes of ballots the day of or days after an election.  Sometimes just enough to change the results.

I still say in person. Paper ballot. Counted by people.   I do not trust computer counting....too easy to program to count wrong.  Even worse if the computer is connected to internet.  Ballot stations need to be smaller so this can be done easier....and quicker.

I agree that computer voting is too easy to hack.  Perhaps the least biased way is to have the ballots collected and sent to a third party to count.  This way, maybe that third party doesn't have an axe to grind or a horse in the race and the count would be more accurate. I loke the 3rd party but they should send people to the poll not move the ballots and it should be done in full view of anyone who wishes to watch.

They could do it that way - probably easier and safer than moving the ballots off the premises.

Living and working in Washington and Oregon ... both states with ONLY mail-in voting ... I have pointed out numerous times the actual ways in which both states are subject to voter fraud and abuse.

Not to say "in person" voting is not subject to fraud and abuse.
But it's far easier to abuse a system where the people can't actually see their votes being counted "live" ... and where it's far easier to "misplace" ballots.
