No.  How many wil anyhow?  If one makes $25K/yr working but $40k on unemployment, why should they go back to work?

How about the 20 million people who are ineligible for unemployment but who want/need a job?  Will they be able to find jobs or will they end up on the street?

Because unemployment benefits run out after a period of time. It's not a retirement plan.

Yes, but why not wait until they run out?

Because one is not legally allowed to refuse a job offer while collecting benefits. Also, in normal times, full benefits amount to a bit more than $500/week. The extra $600/week is due to run out at the end of July. In my case, I have been called back to my job after a 7-week layoff, so I can no longer collect unemployment.

Who makes MORE on unemployment than working at a job? Did you ever experience that? Thank you for your reply. I can't answer any of YOUR questions. Sorry.

It's all over the local news.  Due to the government's added money some people are making more not working that they did while working.  Even Newsom had to admit this.

I'm one of those who needs a job, but gets no unemployment.

Well m'dear that sure sucks! I'm going to tell you something you may not believe. NOT everyone is a lazy no good moneyhungry SOB. I would rather work at my job earning less money than staying home on my fat a** eating chocolates and raking in more dough. It has to do with pride m'dear. I am a proud person. My values are the essence of my being. Without them who am I? I cannot believe that I am unique in that view. Earning your way in the world is something I've always been able to do. Raising a son and doing well by him without any help from anyone. All due to my own efforts and hard work. I think I set a good example for him. That is among the purposes of parenting. Guiding educating being a good role model. There are millions of others just like me. I did not know the gubment encourages sloth. But then sloths are increasing in numbers aren't they? Jabba the Hut in Star WARS was a gigantic sloth. But I digress. Thank you for your reply Shuhak! I shall ask..
