This makes sense to me. Doth it make sense to you? Only I'd extend it to cover ALL JUDGES. Would you?

18 years as a SCOTUS justice and then you're done.

Maybe 12 years  for every other FEDERAL judge.

Idea of Eric Holder and others. Vis a vis SCOTUS. Why not all FEDERAL judges?

They are not elected by we the people. They are APPOINTED. Very partisan political. Your cuppa tea or your cuppa poison?

You see that way a son of an itch like mitch (will there ever be another one like him?) can't lard benches everywhere with extreme right-wing fascist racist judges who will be there for life controlling the rest of us.

It would make the judgeships less onerous barbaric and vicious.

Why should anyone have a job FOR LIFE?

So what do YOU think? Why?

I would be happy with 25 yrs and then retirement from all courts for Scotus.  (This would have removed 12. Between 25-30 and 19 at over 30 yrs) By the time they get to the Supreme court 25yrs should be long enough to get to retirement age.

But not for Federal judges because that would cause those who are not ready to retire to be worried about pleasing a p politican to get another appointment to the bench. This is why we have lifetime appointments.
