I'm probably overthinking this. It's confusing. What do you think?

There is a saying about if you are true to yourself you will be true to others.

So you are a LIAR. Being true to whom you are means you lie all the time.

So being true to others means you lie to them all the time. How can you be true to those you lie to? HELP!
