VICTORIA DAY was May 18 and is celebrated by our Canadian friends. Retroactive HAPPY VICTORIA DAY to you. Know much about it?

It was called "Fete de la Reine"...Celebration of the Queen. It honored Queen Victoria's birthday which is May 24. It began in 1845 and in 1901 it was declared a Canadian Federal Holiday. It was amended in 1952 to be celebrated the  Monday before May 25.

When Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne it was her official birthday celebration though her actual birthday is April 21.
