    Mebbe bebbe. Mebbe. What else could it be but overriding self-interest in STAYING ALIVE? A hard way to do it though...reduced massacres weighed against increased certain horrible painful unendurable death? If we had our d'ruthers would we forego COVID and just live with the mass massacres? I dunno. It's a tossup.     With schools closed, there are no more mass school shootings (hmmm... looks like we found a way to solve that problem).  But don’t worry, there’s still a lot of gun violence out there.  The deranged shooters are now killing others over rules they disagree with.  They refuse to wear a mask or practice social distancing when it’s required, so they whip out their guns and start blasting.  They’re also still out there shooting other people over drugs, bad driving and robberies – as usual.   Once people get tired of hearing about the virus they’ll clamor for more gun news (news stations only put out sensational news, as it’s what the people want).
