What is the purpose of NO KNOCK warrants other than allowing cops to murder people in their homes without fear of being punished?

The intention is to allow the police to "surprise" a subject who is "reasonably" presumed to be hostile.
EG: Someone who has threatened police with violence in the past, and known to have firearms in their home.  You don't want to give them time to arm themselves before the police enter.

    Personally, IMO:
A "no knock" warrant shouldn't be issued just because the person may flee.  You solve that by surrounding the house with officers.
Nor should officers be allowed to serve warrants when people are "reasonably" asleep.  When you are woken by somebody breaking in your door, dressed as ninjas with full face covering, yelling unintelligible commands - your brain can't process whether they are police or not.  Thus, it is perfectly reasonable to defend yourself from them.

In other words the cops are scairdy cats right? As scairdy cat as the donjohnchump adoring worshippers. Scared of their own shadows. So they get the LEGAL upper hand to murder. What a racket! Thank you for your reply Walt. How come in the UK their police do not carry guns? Is it because they dont live in a gun culture as we do? I gotta ask.
