What causes some to treat others with dependably consistent respect while othes smart a** and snark their way through life?

Do the always snarky sarcastic have DEFECTIVE minds and so they cannot help being what they are?

While the always helpful respectful have no defects in character or intellect whatsoever?

I expect that's the case. What do you think and why is that?
