Back in the day when discussing scum it was shyster lawyers (ambulance chasers) and used car-salesmen. Today it's POLITICIANS! How come?

When did POLS replace ambulance chasers and used-car salesmen as the very best example of the very worst  of what you scrape off the bottom of your shoes after you've stepped in poop? Nixon or later than that? Or earlier?

I dunno. When you were a kid who were the scumbags? Who are they today according to you? Why?
