"A HUMANITARIAN CRISIS ON AMERICAN SOIL". How many of them have there been since the inception of a country?

Currently it is the children ripped away from their parents still living in kennels and cages and crying for their mom and dad some of whom will never see them again due to the inhumanity cruelty and incompetence of the current doers.

A humanitarian crisis on American soil? What would YOU call it?

I guess that depends on if you believe the theory that the existing civilizations (Mississippi dwellers, cliff dwellers, etc) were wiped out by a plague introduced by Europeans prior to written history.

Then of course, there were the numerous wars that wiped out entire tribes of indigenous people.

Slavery, of course.  Not just of blacks, but of natives and even whites.

And we must not forget the discrimination against non-English immigrants, which has been going on since we were colonies.

OH!  And the eugenics in the early 1900s.

When you look at it, America has a bad track record of humanitarianism.
It's more of a "do as I say, not as I do" country.

Sad though isn't it Walt? On the surface it seems like a success story with a few glitches along the way. But to know that CONFEDERACY is alive and well and hoping for a comeback at this stage? Pathetic.

I wonder from an historical perspective which country ever born has the cleanest record? I think I shall ask. You're pretty savvy about lots of things. Which would you say? Switzerland because it avoids everything? Thank you for your thoughtful and informative reply Walt! How goes the battle virus-wise today where you are? Both Oregon and Washington now require face masks in any indoor public area, except when eating.
And outdoors, when you can't maintain the 6foot distance.

Of course people are rebelling against it - just like they did in 1919, when it was required due to that pandemic.
Though no one, to my knowledge, has formed an anti-mask society (as they did back then).  lol

You know so many interesting tidbits. They formed an anti-mask society? Like anti-vax or anti fascism?Too funny. Didn't something like 500,000 die from the Spanish Flu or was it 50,000,000? Either way lots of folks perished. People are funny weird. Refusing to do what they know will protect them proves what besides their being ignorant and very stupid dumb? Well if you want to be a suicide then of course it makes perfect sense. If you have the makings of being a mass murderer it's just your cuppa tea. Otherwise if you are normal I'd think you'd WANT to comply with rules to save lives...yours and your loved ones and others. Go figger! Thank you for your reply Walt! :) Just thought of a question. You'll recognize the one to which I refer.
