  • I'm one of those people who thrives when things are going wrong.  It's the smooth sailing that makes me anxious.  I guess knowing what the problem is, is more comfortable for my psyche than not knowing  what the problem is going to be.

Me too.  I think we do it as a defense mechanism so we can protect ourselves from whatever is going to come next to screw things up. Thank you for your reply B and Happy Friday to thee! :)

This is a very interesting take on it  Glis. When things are running smoothly I worry too because I wonder when is the  something I don't know about going to gum up the works? I think it may be a defense mechanism we use just in case. Of course that means we can't wholeheartedly 100% be  joyous because we're always wondering what is going to happen that will change things? I think I"ve always been that way even as kid. Have you? Thank you for your reply. I can really relate to it! :)

  • It's an old saying. "Fish or cut bait".  It basically means to go make yourself useful and get out of the way.

There is a more crude way of putting it Baba. "Sh** or get off the pot" (apologies for that m'dear). It means either do it or don't do and move on. Don't dawdle by sitting on the fence. Decide. Act.  Thank you for your question m'dear and Happy Friday! Did I answer it? :)
