How accurate is the televison show Designated Survivor?

I watched the first episode.   Found it to be the typical melodramatic, corny action, borefest that most primetime political/law enforcement dramas are.

My wife loves it, and I must confess to watching Capitol Hill get obliterated with great glee, but I can't stand Keefer Sutherland.

But is the show 'realistic'?  Kinda-sorta.  I mean, yeah, there is such a position as 'designated survivor' IRL.  There are always one or two government personnel who are picked not to attend SOTU addresses for precisely this reason, and there's a plan in place for an 'emergency government' should the unlikely event occur that the government is wiped out.
