I believe had he run he would have won by a landslide. I never heard of anyone who disliked him.
Can you IMAGINE what it would be like to have a president who liked all of us? That's what he told us. He never met a man (and presumably that would extend to a woman) he DIDN'T LIKE! That would sure be a good thing to have in a president.
Maybe in the next lifetime there will be such a one as he who comes this way again and he will become president! Anything is possible.
