My calendar tells me today is Patriot Day. September 11. How odd.
Go back to 9/11/2001. America was attacked on her own soil. Thousands died. Much damage was done. The Twin Towers were taken down. The Pentagon was attacked. A plane heading for the capitol was taken down and forced to crash in Pennsylvania because of the patriots on board who gave their lives to save the lives of others. The entire world embraced America and wept with us.
I cannot wish you a Happy Patriot Day for what is happy about today? But I do wish you all a Happy Friday because it what I do and have for years. A happy Friday tinged with sadness grief.
